Our inheritance is our legacy.
LOVE AND MONEY: THE CURRENCY
OF LIFE
with Suzi Tucker
June 28 - 29, 2008
Through the lens of family constellations, we can begin to see
how some of the negative patterns in our lives are likely tied to
the secret language of our family systems. Frustration in love …
challenges with money ... these are often part of the powerful legacy
of parents and grandparents (and significant others) who struggled
with circumstances that were beyond their control. For us, the circumstances
may have changed, and yet we, the daughters and sons, often find
ourselves in the same struggle.
Success in these areas, then, may have less to do with finding
the right answers than asking the right questions. Can I bear to
hold on to love when my mother lost the love of her life so young?
Am I allowed to thrive financially when my grandparents lost everything
in their war-torn country? Can I tolerate joy in the shadow of my
father's overwhelming sadness? How can I live fully when my sister
died as a young child?
The question is: Do we live within the limitations of the past rather
than the possibilities of the present? And, if we do, what does
that mean for those who come after us -- what will our legacy be?
Using the family constellation approach as inspired by the work
of Bert Hellinger, we will look for the deeper issues behind our
everyday despair. Once these hidden currents are revealed, we can
be free to forge and embrace our own path to happiness.
This is a two-day workshop: June 28 and 29, 2008 (Saturday and
Sunday, 10:00-5:00)
The cost: $225 for both days ($125 for one day)
The place: Source of Life, 352 7th Avenue, 16th floor, NYC 10001
Creativity: What
Holds Us Back Can Move Us Forward
July 12, 2008
Many of us think that once we are "healed," we will
be able to connect with the creativity inside that wants to get
out. Whether that means that we will write a novel, devote time
to painting, return to choreography, or any number of other manifestations,
the idea is that we will be able to express ourselves once everything
is in place. But what if being creative is not a result of well-being
but actually an intrinsic part of achieving it?
In this workshop, we will focus on two main questions: Where can
we take our permission to create -- or from whom? And when we run
into creative blocks, what -- or who -- are we really running into?
Through the Constellation lens, we will examine the individual creative
process and what fuels it. We will redefine "creativity"
as "contribution" and take steps to understand how this
new meaning can change the input and potential for output.
Please feel free to bring a piece of writing, painting, business
plan, or other related material, although this is not required.
